What is a bachelor or bachelorette party IV?
It is a mobile IV session for a group, run in whatever house, suite or rental you are already staying in. A California-licensed Registered Nurse arrives with everything needed, screens each guest individually, and places drips for several people at the same time so nobody sits around waiting their turn.
Most groups book it for one of two moments: the day before the big night, to start hydrated, or the morning after, to salvage the day everyone had plans for. A single infusion takes roughly 30 to 45 minutes, and because guests are treated simultaneously a party of four is usually finished within the hour.
The practical appeal is that nobody has to drive anywhere, get dressed, or find a clinic in a city they do not live in. The clinical appeal is that a nurse is in the room the whole time.
Should you book the drip before the party or the morning after?
Both work, and they do different jobs. Weekend groups often book both, on different days.
Start the night already hydrated
A hydration or Myers drip in the afternoon or early evening tops up fluids, electrolytes and the B vitamins alcohol depletes fastest, so you begin the night with a reserve instead of a deficit.

Does an IV actually prevent a hangover?
Not entirely, and any provider who promises that is overselling you.
Here is what an IV genuinely does. Alcohol is a diuretic: it pulls fluid and electrolytes out of you and depletes B vitamins and magnesium. An IV puts those back directly into the bloodstream rather than through a stomach that may not be cooperating, which is why the effect is quicker and more complete than drinking water. Anti-nausea and anti-inflammatory medications can be added when they are appropriate for that guest.
What it will not do
An IV does not remove alcohol from your system, protect your liver, lower your blood alcohol level, or make it safe to drink more than you otherwise would. It shortens and softens a bad morning. It is not a licence to drink harder, and we would rather tell you that before you book than have you find out at 2am.

How much does a bachelor or bachelorette party IV cost?
About $299 per person for 2 to 4 guests and about $269 per person for 5 to 10, roughly a 10 percent saving once the group reaches five. Ten or more is quoted individually. Every rate covers the nurse, all supplies and individual screening for each guest.

Can you come to a hotel, an Airbnb or a rental house?
Yes to all three. What we need is somewhere to sit, decent light and a bathroom nearby.
Rental houses and villas
The most common setting. Living rooms and patios work well because the group stays together.
Hotel suites
Routine. We arrive discreetly, in plain clothes over scrubs if you prefer, and we do not need to involve the front desk.
Private homes
Someone's house before a rehearsal dinner or the morning after the wedding is a frequent booking.
Not a moving vehicle
We do not treat guests on a party bus or in a car while it is moving. A nurse cannot safely place or monitor an IV in motion, so we come to you before or after instead.
What happens if one of the guests should not get an IV?
We tell them privately, and we do not treat them. Nobody is charged for a drip they do not receive.
Screening is per guest, not per booking. The person who organised the weekend cannot consent on everyone's behalf. Each guest is asked individually about medical history, current medications, allergies and pregnancy, and each one signs for themselves. A yes for the group is not a yes for every person in it.
Common reasons someone is declined include pregnancy without physician clearance, kidney or heart conditions, certain medication interactions, or simply being too intoxicated at that moment for consent to be meaningful. It is not a judgement and it is not personal, it is the part of the job that makes the rest of it safe. We wrote about the full list in who should skip a drip.
A nurse stays on site for the whole session rather than placing lines and leaving. Staffing scales with the group, so a party of twelve gets multiple nurses rather than one person moving between rooms.
Which drip should the group pick?
Most parties end up on one of four, and guests in the same group can pick differently.

How far in advance should you book a party IV?
Two to three weeks is comfortable for a weekend group. Saturday mornings in spring and summer are the first slots to go, because that is peak wedding season across Southern California and every bachelorette weekend wants the same window.
That said, same-day and next-day requests work more often than people expect, particularly for smaller groups and midweek dates. It costs nothing to call (213) 652-2912 and ask rather than assuming we are full.
