Why You Feel Like This

A hangover is mostly a fluid problem.

Alcohol is a diuretic, so a big night sends water and electrolytes out of your body faster than you replace them. Add disrupted sleep, an irritated stomach, and the inflammatory byproducts your liver produces while it clears alcohol, and you get the familiar package: pounding head, queasy stomach, fog, and zero interest in breakfast.

The catch is that the fix, fluids, is exactly what a queasy stomach does not want. That is why chugging water the morning after often comes right back up. An IV skips the stomach entirely: a full liter of sterile fluids and electrolytes goes straight into circulation while you lie on your own couch.

The comfort medications do the rest, settling nausea and easing the headache, so your body can actually use the rehydration it is getting.

What is in It

The Hangover Recovery formula.

Four targeted components, pharmacy-sourced, adjusted by your nurse after a quick screening.

Fluids + Electrolytes

Normal Saline · 1,000 mL

A full liter of sterile saline restores the fluid and sodium a night out pulls from your system. This is the backbone of the drip and the reason IV rehydration works faster than sipping water.

B-Complex

Multi-B Vitamin Blend · 1 mL

Alcohol metabolism burns through B vitamins, especially B1. Replacing them supports the energy metabolism your body relies on to clear the fog.

Anti-Nausea Medication

Physician-directed dose

A prescription anti-nausea medication settles your stomach, usually within minutes, so fluids stay down and food starts sounding good again.

Anti-Inflammatory Medication

Physician-directed dose

A prescription anti-inflammatory takes on the headache and body aches without asking your irritated stomach to process a pill.

About the medications. The comfort medications in this drip are prescription items administered under our medical director's standing orders, after your nurse screens your health history and current medications. If they are not appropriate for you, we run the drip without them.
Who It Is For

When clients call for this one.

  • The morning after weddings and rehearsal dinners
  • Bachelor and bachelorette weekends in Newport
  • Milestone birthdays that went past midnight
  • Boat days, festival weekends, and long tailgates
  • Work trips and conference season
  • Travel days when you cannot afford to be down

What to Expect

Your Hangover Recovery visit.

Step 1

Quick intake

Your nurse reviews your health history, current medications, and any concerns. This is a five-minute conversation, not paperwork.

Step 2

The IV start

A small IV catheter goes in, typically in the back of the hand or forearm. Most clients describe it as a brief pinch.

Step 3

The drip

The bag runs over about 45 minutes. You can rest, hydrate, watch TV, or close your eyes. Your nurse stays the whole time.

Step 4

The finish

IV out, small pressure dressing on, and the day is yours again. Plan about an hour door to door.

How fast it works. Most clients feel the turn before the bag is finished: nausea eases first, then the headache softens, then energy starts coming back. Plan about an hour door to door.
Important

Who should not get this drip.

IV hydration is generally well-tolerated, but it is not appropriate for everyone. We screen every client and decline service when that is the safer call.

  • Pregnancy, without OB approval
  • Active heart, kidney, or liver disease
  • Known allergy to any component
  • On medications that conflict with the comfort meds
  • Recent serious medical event without clearance
  • Children under 18, without pediatrician approval
Know the difference. If what you are feeling suggests something beyond a hangover, severe or persistent vomiting, confusion, chest pain, or symptoms that keep getting worse, that is a medical situation, not a drip situation, and your nurse will tell you so. An RN's clinical judgment is part of every visit.
Questions

Hangover Recovery, answered.

How fast will I feel better?

Most clients feel the turn before the bag finishes: nausea eases within minutes of the anti-nausea medication, the headache softens next, and energy follows over the next few hours.

Can our whole group book together?

Yes, group bookings are our specialty for this drip. We bring enough nurses for the house, and the morning after a Newport bachelorette is our most common group call.

Is it safe to get if I am still throwing up?

Usually yes, and it is exactly when IV fluids beat drinking water, since nothing needs to stay down. Your nurse screens you first, and if anything suggests more than a hangover, they will say so.

Do you come to my area?

Yes. WholeHealth Hydration is a mobile service covering Orange County, Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties. Same-day slots are most common in coastal Orange County, and a small travel fee may apply depending on distance.

When is it more than a hangover?

Severe or persistent vomiting, confusion, chest pain, or symptoms that keep getting worse are a medical situation, not a drip situation. Your nurse screens for these red flags and will point you to proper care if anything looks off.

Our most requested morning-after drip.
